The House

The massive historic walls of the house guarantee an agreeable indoor climate all year round: cool during summer and comfortably warm during the pre- and after season. Open doors lead to the covered veranda that stretches the entire south side of the longère.

The Lounge Area

Maison Pouyteaux has a very large lounge / dining area for gathering indoors, with easy access to the veranda, the pool area and the large state of the art kitchen.

The Kitchen

Adjacent to the living area is the fully equipped kitchen, including 5-burner Falcon stove with large oven, 2 dishwashers and an American style refrigerator. There is a coffee station with Tassimo machine and coffee percolator. This kitchen is a fantastic space to conjure up some wonderful meals and sociable enough for the whole family to be part of. It has been equipped to cater for large parties. The kitchen is very light, with french doors opening to a terrace, ideal for morning coffee and lawn where you can watch the sunset over sunflower or wheat fields while sipping your glass of local wine.

The Entrance Hall

This is a pretty area and from here you can access both the East wing and the West wing of the house. There is a downstairs WC here.

The Snug

Off the entrance hall towards the East wing there is a further 'snug/living room' with comfy chairs, TV and DVD players. There is also French and British free-sat. There is also a huge selection of DVDs available.

The Veranda

The outside veranda that runs the entire length of Maison Pouyteaux is where most meals will be taken. It is the perfect spot to languish watching the spectacular sunsets, listening to the birds, or reading a book while sipping a glass of local wine. From the veranda, you have access to the lounge/diner in the West wing, the entrance hall, and the snug/TV room on the East wing of the house.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Maison Pouyteaux features 7 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms.  Each bedroom has been decorated with a tasteful and personal touch and includes a chest of drawers/cabinet for clothes, hanging rail, hairdryers, enough electric sockets to charge electronic devices, fans, hooks and more.

West Wing Bedrooms

The Office Area

At the top of the stairs we have made an office area with two desks and a printer. The router is located here, which makes this an ideal place if you need to catch up with work from back home.

The Sunflower Room

This has a queen size bed with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside and exquisite sunsets. It has an adjacent bathroom with shower. We have called it the Sunflower Room because when we bought the property a year ago, the stunning view from the window was a field of sunflowers - apparently this happens ever 2-3 years!

The Sage Room

This has two single beds, that can be made up to a queen size bed. This room and the Childrens Room opposite, make this wing ideal for a family. There is pleanty of room for extra camp beds or a travel cot. It has a bathroom with full size bath and shower across the hallway. There are stair gates at the top of thes stairs.

Children's Room

This childrens room has been added to make the West wing a real family wing. It has two cabin beds with rails and night lights. It lies opposite the Sage Room and they share a family bathroom with bath and walk in shower. There are stair gates at the top of these stairs, and we have in place stair gates that can be fitted to the bottom of both staircases.

East Wing Bedrooms

The Blue and White Room

This has a queen size bed that can be converted into two single beds and en-suite bathroom. It has enough room for an extra bed or baby cot.

The Trundle Room

This room is a cosy and light room and shares a bathroom with the floral room. There is a single sleigh bed with a trundle bed underneath; it makes a comfortable room for two.

The Floral Room

Has 2 single beds that can be made up to be one queen size bed.  This room shares a bathroom opposite with the Trundle room.

The Black and White room

This room has a king-size bed with bathroom en-suite.

Outside

Outside the house has a large garden front and back where you can enjoy beautiful countryside scenery of fields and woodlands.

Garden

With mature trees and landscaped front garden, this provides an idyllic place to relax and enjoy the surrounding fields of sunflowers, woodlands and vineyards. The surrounding countryside is easily accessible, with footpaths alongside neighbouring vineyards, sunflower fields and woodlands.

Swimming Pool

The beautiful salt water swimming pool is private and maintained by a professional pool company. The pool has a state of the art, solar controlled pool cover, which when closed ensures that it is safe with young children around; it should never be walked on but can take up to 90kg.

Around the Pool

There are 14 sun loungers for around the pool on the sunny terrace - this is a perfect place to swim, unwind, catch some rays and relax. There is a covered seating area overlooking the pool where you can relax and take cover from the sun.

There is also a separate pool house with its own covered terrace (another perfect place to watch the sunset).

Pool Room

There is a full size table tennis table inside and a TV and DVD player, with a selection of DVDs for younger children, so they can be in the shade and out of the sun. There are multiple bean bags to lounge on, and also a small table and chairs for arts and crafts.
